Coopeuch

 

A credit union is a financial cooperative, democratically controlled by its members, and operated for the purpose of promoting thrift, providing credit at competitive rates, and other financial services to its members, as well as participation in the results of the cooperative.

Coopeuch 50th anniversary: Founded in 1967 by a group of employees from the Universidad de Chile, with the purpose to satisfy the financial needs of its members, in a time of booming of the cooperative business model.

 

Coopeuch is the biggest credit union in Latin America, ranking first in market share in Chile with a wide margin since its foundation.

Coopeuch is highly regulated since 1975 by Chilean authorities including the Superintendence of Banks and Financial Institutions (SBIF) and the Central Bank of Chile (BCCH) with regular reporting requirements.

 

Coopeuch maintains presence in all the main regions in Chile with a historically well diversified and healthy loan book.

 

Coopeuch looks to proactively diversify funding sources in the national and international markets going forward.
